We’re passionate about inspiring you to experience new things. We want to help you find your new favorite burger, margarita, dessert, date spot, craft beer, local band, happy hour hangout, or trivia night friend group. We showcase the best your state, city, and community has to offer. If we don’t think an article is interesting and relevant, we won’t write it. Check out a few of our articles and you’ll see we’re a bit quirky. Consider us nontraditional media. There’s so much “serious stuff” going on in your daily life: Trump vs. Hillary, boxers vs. briefs, man vs. food, to be or not to be…
We want to give you a break from all of life’s tribulations. Go check out one of the many entertainment options we’ve covered. Read our “Happy Hour” posts for your daily laugh (aka a window into how weird we are). Patiently await our upcoming app, Pulse. Or buy our new card game When Pigs Fly (available now!) and find out just how horrible you and your friends are. Learn more about our founding story.
Meet the Team
I've always considered myself to be an experience-driven person. From constantly checking music apps for what's trending to digging deep by going to underground shows, I'm always looking for music to share. I also like eating food. A lot. Conveniently enough, I've been writing about these topics for various outlets over the better part of four years. A published author, pure foodie, and lover of craft beers, I hope I can be a guide to your next epic adventure. Ultimately, I'm the "creative guy," and I like to think I keep you entertained by writing an endless stream of useful information and taking pictures that make your mouth water.
When I graduated from college, I traveled alone in Europe for one month. The experience changed my life and ignited a passion for getting people to try new things and form real connections with new people. One of the coolest things I've ever had the opportunity to do is speak at TEDxUCincinnati about this topic. If you check out my talk, called "Be a Social Catalyst," I'd love to hear your thoughts. I am the founder of Uneven Odds. I'm the "tech guy," keeping our website robust with new features and our social media fresh with new content.
Katie WallaceSocial Media Hacker
Katie Wallace is your typical millennial in the sense that she's at home when she’s on social media. Or she’s literally at home watching Handmaid’s Tale or House of Cards. You can usually find her at a local coffee shop as well as keeping up with Cincinnati's favorite baby hippo: Fiona.
Karly WilliamsEditorial Mastermind
Karly Williams is a native of Cincinnati and lover of most things Cincy, except fellow residents who still make harambe jokes. She owns a couple Thrasher t-shirts but doesn’t skate, but she tells herself it’s not a poser move because she’s a magazine journalism major at UC. When not trying to balance school, work, and taking care of her dog, she enjoys reading overly pretentious music outlets like Pitchfork. Her other passions include curating collections of her favorite memes, cooking, drawing, and militantly respecting women.
Hattie ClarkEditorial Mastermind
Some have compared Hattie Clark to Kate McKinnon. If you don’t know who Kate McKinnon is she’s the current woman on SNL who impersonates Hillary Clinton and has a plethora of “weird” characters in her back pocket. Hattie would agree with that comparison, but likes to think she’s a healthy mix of Aubrey Plaza and Amy Poehler as well. Why compare to comedians? Because humor is important to her, as well as cats. Cats are very important. Besides cats and comedians, Hattie loves photography and trying to scope out cool events and places to hang out within the city, as well as enjoying the arts and doing some sort of exercise that’s probably dance based.
Brooklynn KernsEditorial Mastermind
Brooklynn Kerns is both an aspiring writer who’s chunky yet funky and a fine collector of celebrity autobiographies & books she’ll probably never read. A proud BGSU student studying creative writing and film production, she also has a beagle/wiener dog mix named Ferris who is the love of her life except when he poops in the house - then he becomes her mortal enemy. Out of all of her accomplishments, she’s probably most proud of the fact that she did her dishes twice in one week. Yeah, you read that right. Two times. One week.
Alivia BoultonEditorial Mastermind
Alivia Boulton is agreeable, amiable, affable, artistic... and mind you, that's only the A's. She's never met a cup of coffee she didn't like, and she knows enough about the bean juice to win a Pulitzer Prize. Accompanied by an army of notebooks and pens, she's constantly researching the absurdity of modern (cult)ures, filling her calendar with local music, and submerging herself into the depths of the world at large.
Stephanie BarkerPhotography & Editorial Mastermind
Stephanie Barker is a small town girl with a grand case of wanderlust. When she's not traveling she's exploring her city, making new friends, or creating art. She loves stumbling upon exciting new places and sharing that excitement with friends both new and old. Her true passion is photography. She cab often be found capturing moments anywhere from local events around the city to hiking at Red River Gorge(ous). She's also an amateur foodie and loves a creative craft beer.
Anthony WoodsDesign Hacker
Anthony Woods is a web and graphic multimedia designer. He often dreams of a land where everything around is art in its purest form: space where he can create a canvas and bring it back to the world in which he lives. He graduated from Cincinnati State in May 2017 with a degree in Multimedia Design and will be continuing his studies at Wilmington College this year as well. He's a lover of music, espresso, photography, and baseball hats. You could call him a sponge, he loves to absorb information and watches documentaries to no end.
Batya RubensteinBeauty Hacker
Batya Rubenstein is a lover of glitter, unicorns, sprinkles, and hazelnut iced coffee (from Dunkin Donuts, like any true Bostonian). She is a full time PhD student at the University of Cincinnati studying Criminal Justice. When she's not chasing her passion for statistics, beauty, and makeup, she's most likely watching YouTube makeup gurus, shopping at Sephora and Ulta, or buried in a pile of highlighter and glitter. You can follow her adventures and get some extra beauty tips on her Instagram @batya108!
Sarah LaddEditorial Mastermind
Sarah Ladd is waiting for her portal to Narnia to open so she can go be a sailor on the Dawn Treader. Until that happens, she enjoys writing, painting, gardening, and cooking (as long as someone else does the dishes). A full-time student at the University of Kentucky, she enjoys art, collecting antique books, and drinking strong coffee. She someday hopes to have a messy desk in a retro office that she's never at because she's somewhere overseas.
