Summer is upon us! Here are a few of our recommendations:

1. Taste of Cincinnati

Ah, is there anything better than eating yourself into a food coma to relax? No, no there isn’t. With hundreds of items to choose from, local music, and the fresh air of Downtown Cincinnati to usher in the start of summer, there’s no reason why you should miss all that our city has to offer. Don’t worry, we’ve already given you a guide to everything you need to try here.

2. The Nowhere Else Fest

Cincinnati classic Over The Rhine is hosting a festival at their farm in Clermont County this weekend for a good cause. If you’ve been following the band, you know that they’ve always been passionate about the art scene in the area, and they’re proving this by using the proceeds from the festival (filled with hand-picked artists of their choosing) to use to transform an old barn into an Arts Center. Yeah, it’s gonna be cool. You can learn more here.

3. Take The Tropical Plunge at Kings Island

Nothing says “welcome to summer” quite like a chilly dip into the early summer waters of Soak City at Kings Island. The complex of 6 different water slides will add 35 additional acres to the water park and make the number of slides top out at 36. We could give you more statistics, but we’ll just let the video below do the talking.

4. Go Hiking at One of The Regions Top Trails

With the number of hikes within a few hours of Cincinnati, you’ll have plenty of time to take a few peaceful trails and relax over the long weekend. Here’s our list of A Hiker’s Guide to The 11 Best Trails in Ohio.

Matt Teaford is a meatatarian, craft beer enthusiast, and follower of his spirit animal, which he believes to be a Kodiak Bear. He can often be found hiking in the backwoods of Kentucky or bragging about both his hometown of Cincinnati and expansive knowledge of music. Except Polka. He knows nothing about Polka.

Matt founded CityNova because he wants people to experience life for all that it’s worth. He also thinks that nap time should be offered by all employers. Since he found no such opportunity, he thought a startup might be his best chance.

He’s also a political Independent who vies for true transparency and accountability in government, but that’s neither here nor there…
