Like all fairy tales, our adventure begins in the most beautiful place our hearts could imagine: Bakersfield in OTR. Tacos and tequila are “relationship goals” at their finest and nothing brings a girl gang together like the famous duo. The Bakersfield Margarita is so perfect that it brings a tear to my eye. The fresh lemon and lime will awaken every sense in your body, shake them fiercely and scream: “It’s party time!” They also feature a craft cocktail menu with drinks like The Red Headed Stranger, made with Wild Turkey 81, for your really cool friend that doesn’t gag and hold her nose while drinking bourbon.

Next stop: 16-Bit Arcade Bar. Having just celebrated their first birthday, they’re one of the most popular bars in the city. They’re also killing it with their cocktail menu. Signature cocktails like the Hulk Hogan (vodka, lemonade and a BOMB POP. YES, YOU HEARD ME) and Adult Slush Puppies were designed to pay homage to the good ‘ol times of our childhood while, obviously, being insanely delicious. My personal favorite is the babe herself: the Pam Anderson, which is made with Malibu Rum, Peach Vodka, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, lime juice and grenadine. *ADDED BONUS* Find the hottest guy in the bar and challenge him to your favorite game. Loser buys drinks. Little does he know, you’re a Goddess of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4 on Playstation. Free Hulk Hogans for you all night, girl.

Now it’s time to get fancy with Igby’s Bar. Located on Sixth Street, is ideal for those nights when your little black dress is screaming to be let out and you’re feeling like Queen Audrey Hepburn. With a unique, craft cocktail menu created by renowned mixologist, Brian Van Flandern, your girl gang will be overloaded with elegant choices, such as the Queen City Sapphire (Bombay Sapphire Gin, lemon juice, Pama liqueur, blackberries, hibiscus water, mint leaves, agave nectar, and prosecco), as you sit on the second story balcony and Snapchat your squad with the puppy filter.

Next, hike up those body con dresses, fight the urge to stop at the Macaron Bar and make your pretty little way on over to Neon’s for their specialty cocktail menu. This week is honoring our homeboy, Mahamad Ali. Set up shop outside in their beautiful patio garden, then visit Danielle (the cutest human to ever live) inside for a cocktail unlike any other: Float Like a Butterfly (bourbon, Cruzan dark rum, cold brew coffee, lemon vanilla syrup, topped with coconut milk and lavender whip cream). P.S. Dogs are welcome, so yeah!

If you’re still going strong, Sundry and Vice resembles your childhood ice cream/candy shop multiplied by, like, 100. Because alcohol. Julia Petiprin and Stuart King have designed an off the hook drink menu that has caught OTR by storm. Featuring toppings like Choco Tacos, chocolate dipped marshmallows, an entire cinnamon bun and mini Pigs in a Blanket (This is real, I promise), these signature drinks are plastered all over our Instagram feed and all over our hearts.

Bonus Round:

Girl, we know you did the most last night. We sent you on an excursion of National Treasure sized proportions for the cocktail of your dreams. You’re now hungover, hungry and have a little attitude. Calm down, little angel. Like the best friends we are, we’re sending you on one more stop; the cherry on top. Mimosas and brunch at Mokka in Newport, Kentucky. So, before you face plant into your french toast, throw back that beautiful concoction of OJ and Champagne, like the classy lady you are, and give a shout out to CityNova for the BEST. NIGHT. EVER.
